WE ARE LOSING OUR HONEYBEES. DOES ANYONE OUT THERE CARE?

Each year beekeepers are losing 30% of their hives. Even though our food crops would be reduced and dismal indeed if we lost all our bees, our government blithely continues to approve pesticides known to kill bees! Worse, stores like Home Depot and Lowe's are using bee-killing pesticides on flowers and vegetable plants that innocent home-owners purchase. Please help to stop this insanity.

FUKUSHIMA: LEAKY TANKS AND ILLEGAL LABOR

The extremely conservative ruling group in Japan has passed a law that is extremely restrictive to journalists. Anyone caught "leaking secrets" faces years of jail. The real truth about what is happening at Fukushima has been hidden from us, and will be even more under wraps. Stay tuned, folks...and if you are so inclined, send your prayers and positive thoughts to Fukushima. The situation there endangers all of us on the planet, not just the Japanese.

MOOSE ARE DYING AT AN ALARMING RATE

Big cats, elephants, wild dogs...now moose. Populations are disappearing, and disappearing fast. Climate change seems to blame. Why do we still allow hunting of these majestic creatures?
http://www.nytimes.com/2013/10/15/science/earth/something-is-killing-off-the-moose.html?_r=1&

To make things sadder, a rare white moose, revered as a spiritual animal by the indigenous people of Nova Scotia and protected by locals, has been shot by a visiting hunter, who had the gall to pose for a photo smirking over the beautiful creature whose life he took.

MASSIVE WHALE STRANDINGS & DEATHS CAUSED BY MANMADE NOISE

Ear-splitting underwater sonar and deafening noise has been found to be the cause of massive whale strandings, where many whales wound up dying. It is horrific to think what we are exposing these creatures to across the globe. As the article suggests, the world needs to come together to DO something to save these creatures from our increasing use of underwater noise. Is it necessary to defend ourselves at the cost of the remaining creatures on the planet?

THOUSANDS OF SONGBIRDS KILLED IN CANADA

7,500 songbirds, possibly including some very endangered birds, were killed in one night by a gas plant in Canada. We need to learn what to do to protect our songbirds, who are rapidly disappearing on the planet. What will life be like when there are no songbirds left to sing to us?

FUKUSHIMA IS POISED TO DESTROY ALL OF US

In this article, Harvey Wasserman addresses the desperate problems of Fukushima, which could wipe us all out, and suggests that a global takeover is necessary NOW to prevent disaster that will permanently poison the Earth. I agree, and wonder that we are not taking to the streets by the millions to force governments to do something.  This is the biggest crisis facing all of u

BYE BYE INTERNET FREEDOM

If Verizon gets its way, only companies who pay them big bucks will be available on the internet. If you use Verizon for your cellphone, you might reconsider giving this company any more money:

OUR GOVERNMENT IS PLANNING TO ERADICATE WILD HORSES

Wild horses roam in Wyoming on public land. Half of these herds are in a two-million-acre area of both public and private land.

The BLM wants to decimate the herds in this corridor, getting rid of those "nuisance" wild horses for once and for all so that private corporations may use OUR land for their livestock to graze. This would wipe out half the wild horses in Wyoming!

The Bureau of Land Management seems to have forgotten that the public land in this corridor belongs to the people of the USA, not to private individuals or companies for their own profit. We love our heritage of wild horses.

Please consider submitting a comment to the BLM and let them know you want to keep the wild horses and permit them to thrive. You can do so via this link:

Sears, K-Mart, and Land's End contributing to Mother Earth's problems

When you purchasing clothing at K-Mart, Sears or Land's End, did you know that they throw away the plastic hangers your clothes were on? That's right. All the hangers are thrown away after just one use. They are taken to landfills, where they will remain intact for centuries or more. If they eventually degrade, they will only degrade into plastic molecules and the pollution of the earth will be permanent.

Think of the millions of hangars that are used just one time in these stores and then tossed out. Think of the oil it takes to make the plastic to create these hangers. Think of the fuel it takes to haul them away. Think of the space used up in landfills...all because for them it is cheaper than being environmentally responsible.

Doesn't anyone with power in those stores have a conscience?! Who gave them permission to do such horrible things to our earth?

It is tragic that such large stores couldn't attempt to take better care of the planet. Such greedy neglect is unconscionable. It wouldn't take much to create biodegradable hangars made out of cornstarch--this has already been done with everything from mugs to pens--or at the very least, to make hangers recyclable and recycle them.

This is yet one more heart wrenching story of how the greed and hardened hearts of an enormous corporation are wrecking our planet and contaminating our environment, while the public remains oblivious.

MONARCH BUTTERFLIES ARE BEING DECIMATED BY PESTICIDES

The population of monarch butterflies is at its lowest point in 20 years--all of them on the planet able to fit now into three football field--because the pesticides used in Canada and the USA have decimated milkweed, its food source.

Milkweed used to grow along fields and in between crops, but no longer. Factory farming permits NOTHING to live in the fields (including our own honeybees) but one crop. This is insanity.

If you live in an area where milkweed grows, please be a good steward of the monarch butterflies and let it thrive.

FOOD WE EAT THAT IS BANNED IN OTHER COUNTRIES

You may be surprised when you look at this list of food commonly eaten in the USA but banned in other countries. This list doesn't even include GMO (genetically modified) soy and corn products, also banned in quite a number of other nations, and present in nearly all processed food, even that labeled "natural."

NEWS WE DON'T GET

There are massive, important strikes and demonstrations occurring in Columbia that we are not hearing about in our mainstream media, where the lives of a shallow family called the Kardashians seems more important than what is happening to real people across the globe.

One article (whose veracity still needs to be confirmed) states that one reason for these massive protests is that the new trade agreement with the USA prevents Columbian farmers from growing and selling their own seed.

OUR NAVY PLANS TO INCREASE DEAFENING SONAR

Our Navy continues is planning to intensify, rather than limit, its horrific practice of maiming and killing whales and dolphins with unbearable, inescapable blasts of sound, despite recommendations that they stop. Who will protect the innocent creatures of our planet?

THINK ROUNDUP IS NOT TOXIC TO HUMANS? THINK AGAIN.

If you think Roundup is not harmful to human beings, read this article. MIT studies have, like others, concluded that glyphosates, the main toxic ingredient in RoundUp, is dangerous to mammals.

The EPA, nevertheless, with a mandate to protect the public, recently increased the amount of glyphosates that we are allowed to have on our food. Never mind that large food producers wear head-to-toe protective gear when spraying this poison on the plants we are going to ingest. Our grandparents didn't wear protective gear when they went into their gardens to pull weeds.

Monsanto, the company that produces RoundUp (as well as genetically modified seed. And Agent Orange. And a long list of nasty products), makes over billion dollars a year in profits, however, and many top officials at the FDA were once top officials at Monsanto.
